Peggy Adelman has been weaving traditional reed and Nantucket baskets for 20 years. For the past eight years, Peggy has been creating and publishing original basket designs. Peggy loves functional baskets with vibrant colors. Peggy dyes all of the colorful reed used in baskets and kits.
Peggy teaches basket making weekly at the Guilford Technical Community College in Greensboro, North Carolina and at the Wellspring community. She is a member of the North Carolina Basket Makers Association.
Look for Peggy's name listed as an instructor at basket conventions in the "UPCOMING EVENTS" page and in the John C. Campbell Folk School catalogue. The folk school, located in Brasstown, NC, is a great experience for a weekend or week-long class and is great for the first-time basket maker or experienced artisans looking to add new skills.
Peggy has volunteered as a Guardian Ad-Litem in Guilford County for 23 years, advocating for the safety of children in foster care. Peggy is also a certified fitness trainer.
Peggy lives in Greensboro, North Carolina with her husband Rick and their 3 rescue dogs, Maggie, Quinn and Kenzie.
